Quilt Coat with Nancy
Ever Dreamed of making your own quilt coat? Join Nancy for this 5 week class where she'll guide you through the process of making a stunning coat using your favorite quilt block! Intermediate quilting experience is required, but garment making experience is NOT.
What to Bring
Standard Supplies List:
- Sewing Machine in good working order (have a copy of your machine manual handy)
- Sewing Machine feet (a ¼” foot and a walking for are a must for this class)
- Extra machine needles (universal size 80/12 or 90/14)
- A regular pencil
- A fabric marking pen/pencil
- POLYESTER thread for piecing to match your fabrics
- Rotary cutter
- Seam ripper
- Straight Pins
Project Supplies:
- Outside fabric 3m quilting cotton (additional yardage will be needed for larger sizes, ifo will be sent in advance).
- Lining fabric 3.5m (blender or small print recommended, a soft quilting cotton is best)
- A few scraps of a fabric or two to match outside fabric, for quilt block
- Quilt batting (equal to outside fabric). (A soft, thin batting works best)
- One thread that matches both fabrics (will sew from both sides)
- Hand sewing needle
- Fabric Scissors
- Zipper & button options will be discussed in the first class.
