Foundation Paper piecing with Jennifer - Puffin
Join Jennifer for this two-evening class, where you’ll create a charming foundation paper-pieced puffin! You can finish your puffin as a pillow or a wall hanging, all while having fun learning the basics of foundation paper piecing. This class is perfect for building confidence with the technique and trying something new in a relaxed, supportive setting.
What to bring:
General Supplies:
- Sewing Machine in good working order (have a copy of your machine manual handy)
- Sewing Machine foot attachments (an open toe foot and a ¼” foot is required for this class)
- Extra machine needles (universal size 80/12 or 90/14)
- Bobbins
- Thread for piecing (I recommend 100% cotton 50 weight thread in a neutral colour)
- A fabric marking pen/pencil
- Scissors for snipping thread
- Rotary cutter (45mm)
- Seam ripper
- Straight Pins
- A pen/pencil & notebook for taking notes
Project Specific Supplies (pre printed foundation paper is included in the class fee)
- 1 fat quarter – Sky
- 1 fat quarter – Water
- 1 fat quarter – Black Puffin Wings
- 1 fat quarter white – Puffin Body
- scraps for mountain and rock under puffin
- Scraps – 2 shades of orange (beak & feet)
- 18”x18” batting
- 20”x20” muslin
- 1/4m border fabric
- If making a pillow – 1/2m for pillow back, 20” zipper, 18” pillow form
- If making a wall hanging – 1 fat quarter for backing & 1/4m for binding
- A 6"x12" or a 6"x24" ruler
- An add a quarter ruler

She’s taken numerous classes and workshops to sharpen her skills and has created countless quilts, tote bags, mug rugs, table runners, placemats, and more. In 2021, Jennifer began sharing her love of quilting with others through teaching—and she hasn’t looked back since. |
