Joyful Quilt with Jennifer



Join Jennifer for five fun-filled evenings creating the Joyful quilt using fabrics from Sweetwater's charming Chilly collection. This project combines traditional piecing with a touch of appliqué and hand embroidery, making it a delightful quilt for advanced beginners and experienced quilters alike. The class fee includes instruction and the full kit (contents listed below).

Supplies: - you will receive a 10% discount on class supplies purchased at Jennifer’s Quilt Shop.

Standard Supplies List:

  • Sewing Machine in good working order (have a copy of your machine manual handy)
  • A quarter inch foot & and open toe foot
  • Extra machine needles (universal size 80/12 or 90/14)
  • 2 empty bobbins
  • A light coloured Frixion Pen
  • Scissors for snipping thread
  • Sharp scissors for applique I recommended the Karen Kay Buckley Micro Serrated Scissors)
  • Rotary cutter (45mm)
  • Seam ripper
  • Straight Pins
  • Rulers - a 6”x24” and a 12.5”x12.5”.
  • Acorn Easy Press Pen & Fabric Treatment
  • The shop has irons, ironing boards, rulers and cutting mats available for your use.

Fabric & Project Requirements

  • The kit will be given to you on class night and includes: The pattern, fabric, thread for piecing, applique & embroidery, fusible web and stabilizer

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Students must have a sewing machine in good working order and be comfortable using it independently. This class is best suited for those who can confidently sew an accurate ¼" seam allowance and accurately cut fabric using a rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat.
Materials Included: Pattern, Fabric, Thread, Embroidery Thread, Fusible Web, Stabilizer
Requirements: A sewing machine in good working order & the supplies listed in the class description.

Instructor Bio: Jennifer has always loved and admired handmade quilts, but it wasn’t until she took her first class a few years ago that she realized just how much she’d been missing out. From that moment on, her passion for quilting has grown fast and furious. She’s taken numerous classes and workshops to sharpen her skills and has created countless quilts, tote bags, mug rugs, table runners, placemats, and more. In 2021, Jennifer began sharing her love of quilting with others through teaching—and she hasn’t looked back since.
